Venmo is a mobile money service that you can use for payment of goods and services. It has been a subsidiary of PayPal since 2013 when PayPal bought Braintree, which by then owned Venmo. Therefore, Venmo automatically became a property of PayPal. Venmo was a way for friends to divide their payments while avoiding fees but has evolved into a big payment platform since then. Different kinds of people are receiving Payments via Venmo and especially during this time of Covid’19.
The company itself began operations in 2009 under the efforts of Andrew Kortina and Iqram Magdon-Ismail. It relies on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. People can access their accounts via computers as well.
The mobile payment service operates only in the USA. It means that you cannot use Venmo to transfer funds internationally.
