Replace Cash App Card – How to Replace & Activate NEW Cards
If you use Cash App to send or receive money, you likely have their Cash Card and may need to replace it every now and again.
Your Cash App Card could be lost, stolen, or damaged, or you’re just dissatisfied with the design and want to change it. So, how do you replace Cash App Card or order a new one?

How to Get a Replacement Cash App Card
Follow these procedures to order a new Cash Card if you need to replace Cash App Card:
- Select the Cash Card tab.
- Choose Cash Card Support.
- Click on report your Cash Card.
- Choose between Card Stolen/Compromised or Card Missing.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
How Long Does it Take to Get a Replacement Card?
If you request a new Cash App Card, you’ll get it within 5-7 days of Cash App receiving your request.

How Much Does it Cost to Replace Cash App Card?
If you order a Standard replacement card to replace Cash App Card, it will cost you $5.
If you request other card types, the replacement fee may be higher.
How to Get a New Cash App Card for Free?
You cannot get a new Cash App card for free.
To replace Cash App Card, getting a new Cash App Card will cost you at least $5 and can cost higher if you request limited edition Cash Cards.
Can I Still Use My Cash App if I Order a New Card?
Yes, you can use your Cash App even if you order a new Cash Card.
Once you receive your Cash Card, it may be used right away by connecting it to Apple Pay and Google Pay or by entering the card details on the Cash Card page.

How to Activate a Replacement Cash App Card
Activating your Cash App Card for a new or replacement card is the same.
When you replace Cash App Card, you can activate the newly arrived card by following one of these two methods.
Method 1 – Activate Cash Card Using the QR Code:
- Open Cash App.
- Click on the Cash Card tab on your Cash App home screen.
- Click on the image of your Cash Card.
- Click Activate Cash Card.
- Click OK when your Cash App asks for permission to use your camera.
- Scan the QR code with your camera to finish the process.
- Wait for confirmation. Once you receive the confirmation message, your Cash Card will be activated instantly.
Method 2 – Activate Cash Card Without the QR Code:
- Open Cash App.
- Click on the Cash Card tab on your Cash App home screen.
- Click the image of your Cash Card.
- Click Activate Cash Card.
- Click Use CVV Instead.
- Type the CVV code and expiration date of your new Cash Card.
- Wait for confirmation. Once you receive the confirmation message, your Cash Card will be activated instantly.
What Should I Do if My Cash App Card is Lost?
If you feel that:
- Your Cash Card or Cash Card number has been lost or stolen, or
- Someone has transferred or may transfer funds from your Card Account without your permission
Contact Customer Service at 855-351-2274 immediately or follow the in-app Support steps to minimize any potential damages.
If you have a virtual and a physical Cash Card and report one of them lost or stolen, both cards will be revoked, and replacement Cards will be issued.
If you need to replace a lost or stolen Cash Card, you may do so within Cash App by pressing the Card and then tapping the Report Lost Card button.
Personal information such as your card number, full name, transaction history, and other pertinent information will be requested when you apply for a new Cash App card.
Does the Card Number or Account and Routing Numbers Change With New Cards?
If you order a new Cash App Card to replace one that has been damaged, the card number will stay the same.
However, if the card is lost or stolen, a new card number is issued for security reasons, and the previous card is banned from future usage.
Your account and routing numbers will not change, and you can examine them by selecting the left banking option and then selecting deposits and transfers.
How to Redesign Your Cash App Card
You can get your own custom-designed Cash App Card. You can also request a redesign even if you already have one.
To change the color, emojis, and/or signature on your Cash Card, follow these steps:
- Open Cash App.
- On the Cash App main screen, tap the Cash Card tab.
- Choose “Design a New Card.”
- Follow the instructions.
NOTE: It costs $5 to change the design of your Cash Card.
What Designs are Available for a Cash App Card?
Cash App jumped onto this customizable Cash Card craze and now provides some unique design possibilities.
Cash App will even print the graphic of something you sketch onto your card.
In addition to new users now being able to pick between a black and white card or a custom-designed card, there’s also the opportunity to “upgrade” to a glow-in-the-dark card for $5.
If that weren’t enough, you could also select from two metal card alternatives that cost $50 each.
Currently, the two metal color possibilities are Chameleon Metal and Black Metal.
Why Do I Need a Cash Card?
Block Inc. began putting out their Cash Card — a real Visa debit card that allows users to make purchases and withdraw money from their Cash App account — to differentiate themselves from the competition.
The card is issued by Sutton Bank and is specific to the Cash App account of the user.
Cash App also provides a Boosts function that allows you to save money.
When you use your Cash Card and utilize Boosts, you can save money on coffee, lunches, and other items.
These cards can be used everywhere Visa is accepted. You can also add your credit card to Apple Pay and use it that way.
